Integrative Counselling
I am an Integrative Counsellor which is when a therapist brings various elements of different theories together. The practice at it’s core believes that there is no one single type of therapy that works for everyone. There are lots of ways that a problem can be understood and explored, and these ways can be catered to each individual and what they need. The main approaches I use include Psychodynamic Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Creative therapies, with a Person-Centred approach at the heart of our work together.

As well as the above approaches, I will draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help support you in navigating your external world throughout the changes that come with therapy.
I have a particular interest in...

Generational Cycles
Helping you to understand and process generational cycles, and explore what this means for you.
How our parents and grandparents experienced life can shape the way we see our world. The way we cope and manage can often be unconscious, and therefore passed down without realising. Coping mechanisms are there to protect us, but when we are unaware of them and therefore not able to continuously reevaluate whether they still serve us, they can then be passed down to the next generation. I like to create a space that allows us space to reevaluate these coping mechanisms and work out what works for our story and our situation now, and what no longer benefits us.
Creative Therapies
Helping you to gain self-awareness and understanding, and explore your situation through creative therapy interventions.
Sometimes words are not enough. Sometimes we cannot find the words to describe how we feel and what we’re trying to say. I believe the body always remembers, whether we consciously realise that or not. Creative therapies allow us to engage the side of our brain that is creative and doesn’t use words. I find using these interventions can show us how our subconscious understands our experiences and allows a different way to process these experiences in a way that feels safe.

This might include art utensils, instruments and music, sand play, dolls, role play or movement within our sessions to free space for our subconscious to communicate what our conscious mind might find difficult to articulate.
